Accessibility statement
What we have done to make this site and our service usable by everyone, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.
Last updated: 18 September 2026
We want everybody to be able to book an ice cream van from us, whether or not they can use a mouse, see the screen, or fill in a form. This page says plainly where we are.
Reaching us without using this website
You never have to use the form. If any part of this site does not work for you, or you would simply rather talk to a person, get in touch however suits you best:
- Phone: 020 8088 5431
- WhatsApp: 020 8088 5431 — useful if speaking on the phone is difficult
- Email: info@kreamydelights.com
We will answer an enquiry made any of these ways exactly as we would one made through the form, and we can take a whole booking over the phone.
Access at your event
Accessibility does not stop at the website. Tell us when you book if any of your guests have access requirements and we will work around them:
- We can position the van so the serving hatch is reachable, and serve from ground level where the hatch height is a problem.
- Our staff will read out the menu, describe what is in each item and take as long as needed. There is never a rush.
- Assistance dogs are welcome anywhere our van is.
- We can give allergen and flavour information verbally, in large print, or written down in advance.
What we have done on this site
- A skip link so keyboard users can jump straight past the navigation.
- Visible focus outlines on every interactive element.
- Text alternatives on every meaningful image; decoration is hidden from screen readers.
- Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA — body text on our coloured cards measures around 8:1, headings around 17:1.
- Semantic headings, one
h1per page, and real landmarks. - All motion — the animated figure in the header, the scroll reveals, the counting numbers — is switched off entirely if your device is set to reduce motion.
- The site works at 320px wide and reflows without horizontal scrolling.
- Form fields have real labels, and required fields are marked in text as well as colour.
- Menus and allergen information are readable text, not pictures of text.
What we know is not perfect
Being honest about the gaps is more useful than claiming there are none:
- The photographs of our physical menu boards are images. Everything on them also appears as readable text on the Flavours page, but the boards themselves cannot be read by a screen reader.
- The zoom view for those boards is usable with a keyboard but has not been tested with every screen reader.
- We have not had an independent accessibility audit. This statement reflects our own testing.
The legal position, stated accurately
As a business serving the public we have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage. That duty is anticipatory: we are meant to think about it in advance, not wait to be asked.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are not legally required to — the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018, which do impose that standard and require a formal accessibility statement, apply to public sector organisations, not to private businesses like ours. We publish this statement because it is the right thing to do, not because we have to.
Tell us when we get it wrong
If you hit something on this site you cannot use, or you need information in a different format, email info@kreamydelights.com or call 020 8088 5431. Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We will reply within 5 working days and tell you how we will sort it.
